Raw water containing impurities on passing
through Filter bed (The Media selection is done before
the Filter selection). The physical impurities are
either retained physically in pores of filter bed or are
Physio-chemically absorbed in the Filter media and hence
producing potable impurity free water.
After a fixed interval, depending upon the quantity
and quality of raw water a Backwash is given which
removes the impurities deposited over the bed. After
Backwash the plant is again ready for operation.
